Be A Revolutionary

I deleted "Serial Sound" today, my all music blog. Not because I didn't enjoy writing, because I loved it. I deleted it, because music encompasses more of what I do, than just writing about music itself. It's in everything I do and it influences everything I do. So I will be posting about the musicians that influence me here, and talk about what they have influenced. My life is pretty fun and interesting, there's always a soundtrack. Lately, I've been heavy into loud guitars and good songwriting. Make that clever song writing. Lots of Jack White, Kings of Leon, The Beatles, B.B. King, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and the Foo Fighters. I'm surrounding myself with music that inspires revolution and standing up for what you believe in.

There's been a lot of standing up for what we believe in going around lately. I'm not here to say what I'm for or against; I'm not a political blogger. I do like to throw bricks thru windows (I know I used that reference in my Resc\you blog, deal with it..it's a good metaphor). Just to cause "trouble" but to get people talking. I find this a lot when I talk about trafficking and sex crime. People want to hide from the numbers, the facts, but the numbers don't lie. I don't know if it makes it easier for them to  live life, or what. For me, it makes me incredibly angry every time I'm faced with the facts. So angry that sometimes I don't know how to react to it, but be angry.

I've been doing research for my job to learn what the new Juvenile criminal looks like so we can find better mentors for them. On top of my trafficking research already, I just get more angry and more angry. So right now, I'm just there. I'm sitting on information, angrily, because I don't know how to react to it yet...well, as a mature therapist/humanitarian/abolitionist would.

You say you want a revolution Well, you know We all want to change the world You tell me that it's evolution Well, you know We all want to change the world But when you talk about destruction Don't you know that you can count me out Don't you know it's gonna be all right All right, all right
